Wind loads at height
Wind speeds above 12 m/s stop crane work. The climbing assembly stays locked on the wall and work can continue.
SOLUTION 03 High-Rise Climbing
Self-climbing formwork and protection systems for super-tall core walls, high-rise towers, and complex vertical structures. TECON climbing solutions integrate formwork, working platforms, and weather protection into one automatic hydraulic system that eliminates crane dependency above 100 metres.
TECON high-rise climbing formwork systems are engineered for buildings where conventional crane-dependent methods become inefficient or unsafe. Above 100 metres, wind loads, crane cycle times, and fall protection requirements make a self-climbing system the only practical choice.
Our climbing systems combine formwork panels, working platforms, hydraulic lifting units, and weather protection into a single integrated assembly. Once locked on the core wall, the system climbs automatically without crane assistance.
Standard climbing formwork configurations by building type.
| Application | Dimensions | Recommended System | Key Advantage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Residential high-rise | 30–60 storeys | TSC100 + HETO Frame | 200–400 mm core |
| Commercial super-tall | 60–100 storeys | TSC100 + climbing unit | 400–600 mm core |
| Hotel / mixed-use towers | 40–80 storeys | TSC50 / TSC100 | 250–500 mm core |
| Bridge pylons | Up to 150 m | Climbing formwork | Variable section |
TECON climbing systems are engineered for the conditions found above 100 metres.
Wind speeds above 12 m/s stop crane work. The climbing assembly stays locked on the wall and work can continue.
Above 40 storeys, a single tower crane cycle can take 15–20 minutes. Climbing removes that wait from the floor cycle.
Core walls must stay ahead of the slab frame. TECON climbing completes one floor every 3 to 5 days.
Working platforms and the protection screen move with the formwork, so edge protection is always in place.
Two primary product lines cover climbing formwork and protection.

CLIMBING FORMWORK
Hydraulic self-climbing formwork system. Integrates with HETO Frame panels. Crane-free climbing, 3–5 day floor cycle.

PROTECTION
Full-height protection screen with hydraulic climbing. Fall protection, debris containment, and wind shelter. Climbs with the formwork.

Automatic hydraulic lifting removes crane dependency above 100 metres. Floor cycles stay predictable.
Enclosed working platforms keep crews productive in wind and rain on moderate-wind days.
Formwork, platforms, and protection climb as one unit. No separate screen assembly between floors.
Edge protection is present at every level and contains debris across the working height.
