TECON is proud to contribute to the Central Lime Project in Papua New Guinea—a landmark industrial development that marks a significant step forward for the country’s lime production industry. Located approximately 35 km from Port Moresby, the project is designed to establish Papua New Guinea’s first integrated, export-ready large-scale lime production facility.
| Project Name | Central Lime Project |
| Location | Papua New Guinea (approximately 35 km from Port Moresby) |
| Project Type | Industrial Lime Production Facility |
| Formwork Systems | Base 20 Column Formwork, Flex 20 Slab Formwork, and Ringlock Scaffolding |
| Total Formwork Supplied | 1,400 m² |
| Key Structures | Columns, suspended slabs, and beams |
| Key Challenge | Complex slab geometry, particularly haunched sections |
The project is centered on two high-efficiency quicklime kilns, each designed for a daily processing capacity of 600 tonnes. With strong support from the Papua New Guinea government, the development represents an important investment in the country’s industrial capabilities and export potential.
For this project, TECON supplied approximately 1,400 m² of formwork solutions, combining three complementary systems to address different structural and construction requirements:
For column construction.
For suspended slabs and beams.
For construction access and structural support.
One of the project’s key technical challenges is the complex slab geometry, particularly the haunched sections where the slab thickness increases around supporting structural elements. These areas require careful consideration of formwork configuration, support arrangements, and construction detailing.
By combining Base 20 and Flex 20 formwork systems with Ringlock scaffolding systems, TECON provides a solution tailored to the project’s column, beam, and suspended slab requirements. The combination supports the coordination of formwork and temporary support systems across different structural elements.
At TECON, we understand that landmark industrial projects demand more than product supply. They require close attention to structural requirements, practical construction conditions, and the coordination of different systems on site.
We value the trust placed in TECON for the Central Lime Project and are proud to contribute our formwork and scaffolding solutions to this important development in Papua New Guinea.
Through continued collaboration with our project partners, TECON remains committed to delivering practical, reliable, and engineering-focused solutions for demanding construction projects worldwide.
Our engineering team delivers customized formwork and shoring proposals for global construction requirements.
