Through frequent visits to Latin America and Southeast Asia, TECON observed that aluminum beam modular slab formwork is rapidly replacing traditional steel and timber systems due to its lightweight handling, high reuse cycles, and corrosion resistance, offering clear efficiency and cost advantages. With relatively few comparable solutions available on the market, this growing demand inspired TECON to develop its own aluminum beam modular slab formwork system—APEX DEK—to meet evolving construction needs.

APEX DEK is not an incremental extension of traditional loose-beam systems, but a system designed from the outset to rethink how large-area horizontal slabs are installed. It adopts an aluminum main beam and secondary beam structure with full-size plywood panels laid directly on top. Through standardized modular beam combinations and pre-formed connection slots, the system enables fast, precise assembly and continuous slab coverage, significantly reducing loose components and on-site adjustments while ensuring a clear and repeatable installation sequence.
Component weight and installation workflow are systematically optimized, allowing individual workers to carry, position, and assemble beams and panels without lifting equipment. This lowers labor demands and improves consistency and efficiency, particularly in large-area slab applications.

When used with the early-stripping support system, beams and panels can be removed once the concrete reaches the required strength, while supports remain in place. This allows immediate reuse of formwork components and significantly improves turnover efficiency.

APEX DEK is fully compatible with the Alu-Flex slab formwork system in terms of modular dimensions and support configuration, enabling a unified slab construction solution within the same project. More importantly, APEX DEK fundamentally improves how slab formwork is installed—making large-area slab construction more efficient, more controlled, and easier to execute on site.

By introducing APEX DEK, TECON offers a new generation slab formwork system that simplifies large-area slab installation and improves overall project productivity.
